The Emerald Necklace Conservancy

Winding their way through Boston and Brookline, the Emerald Necklace parks are a living masterpiece of American landscape architecture that connect countless communities each day. The 1,100- acre expanse — a water management system cleverly disguised as a string of public parks encircling the Boston peninsula like a great necklace — was the most ambitious project of Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of such world-renowned landscapes as New York City’s Central Park and the US Capitol Grounds in Washington, D.C.

Join the Emerald Necklace Conservancy for an exciting talk on the history of Boston’s largest park system, its impact on the health and ecology of Boston — as essential now as it was two centuries ago — and the Conservancy’s work restoring and improving the parks today!

The Presenter, Declan Battles, is the Marketing & Communications Manager for the Emerald Necklace Conservancy.  https://www.emeraldnecklace.org/

This general meeting time is 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 8th, and hosted by Loretta Patterson and Joann Kunz (Programs CGCD).
