The Community Garden Club of Duxbury
Supporting Biodiversity In Our Gardens and Landscape with Brian Gibbons
CGCD April General Meeting @ 6 PM
Pilgrim Church of Duxbury ~ 404 Washington St. Duxbury, MA ~
Our gardens and landscapes have the unique opportunity to support biodiversity. We can have a positive effect on the environment by changing certain ways we care for our plants, and these are also better for our families and friends. There are design applications that help improve our outdoor spaces for living creatures, both above and below ground. Homeowners who are garden enthusiasts can select plants that benefit pollinators, birds and other organisms; use sound management and maintenance practices that are safe for local ecosystems and have low adverse impact on the natural world. During the presentation, we will touch on biodiversity and why it is important to embrace as gardeners. Participants will learn how they can support and enhance biodiversity in their home gardens and landscapes through design, plant choices and care.
